Date:

Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – Following the demolition and regrading of the roadway at Fort Tyson Rise on February 21 and 22, the concrete and asphalt crews of the Roads Division of the Public Works Department (PWD) continue to improve the roadway in the area.

“The PWD intends make Fort Tyson Rise more comfortable for vehicular use and make some changes to the drainage in the area.”

PWD’s Roads Division Head, Zekey Hazel

This week, the concrete crew is expected to excavate the area as it prepares to lay 8″ pipes and cast concrete drains. Working in concert with the concrete crew, the asphalt crew is also expected to prepare the base for paving, with test paving slated for Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

These activities are part of the ongoing efforts of the Public Works Department to improve public infrastructure on the island.
